The process of querying requires you to do two emotionally fraught things: submit your work to scrutiny from strangers, and submit yourself to rejection. I cannot say I enjoy the process, but one good thing I can say about querying is that it’s taught me to weather disappointment without giving up (though there have been a few close calls).
